In memory of Jon Carlson (1945-2017), we have kept his short biography below. A more thorough biography can be found in this obituary.

Jon Carlson is a licensed psychologist with doctoral degrees in both counseling and clinical psychology. He has a Diploma in Family Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology. He worked as a therapist for over forty years mainly in Lake Geneva. He and his wife have been married for forty-eight years and have five grown children.

Jon is well known in the professional psychological community and has received lifetime contributions awards from several professional organizations including the American Psychological Association and the American Counseling Association. He was named one of the Living Legends in Counseling in 2004. He has published 60 books, 175 professional articles and produced over 300 video training programs. He is Distinguished Professor of Adlerian Psychology at Adler University in Chicago and former Distinguished Professor of Counseling and Psychology at Governors State University in University Park, Illinois. Dr. Carlson has provided professional training throughout the world including being on the faculty of the Evolution of Psychotherapy Conference.

Jon works with a variety of client problems and is comfortable working with individual, couples or families.
